It might be cold outside, but inside our practice we’ve selected the very best eyewear collections for winter sports from Oakley and Adidas. So come in, keep warm and see what we have to offer!
Oakley’s winter sports sunglasses come in a wide range of colours, styles and provide UV protection and clear vision during the winter. You can customise your sunglasses to create the perfect look for the slopes, driving or out and about in town.
Adidas ski sunglasses and goggles give clear vision, UV protection, secure fit and durability during harsh conditions on the slopes. And if you’re driving in the fog where glare can be a problem, Adidas sunglasses come with interchangeable lenses making them an excellent piece of kit for the winter.
The Buntingford Late Night Shopping event is on Friday 2 December. We’d love you to join us at the practice on the night for a complimentary glass of wine or orange juice courtesy of Andrew at the Wine Cellar, and cheese tasting from Toby at the Cheese Platter.
Late Night Shopping is an excellent community event. The High Street is illuminated and the shops stay open until 8pm. You can watch the lighting of the ‘Lights of Love’ tree in aid o f Isabel Hospice, join in with the carol service and the kids can enjoy the fun fair and Santa’s Sleigh.
Buntingford local businesses pull out all the stops to make the Late Night Shopping event one to remember and the window displays along the High Street get you in the Christmas spirit. This year our practice has an exclusive winter display of flowers by Crazy Daisy in the fireplace, and Country Flowers are creating a festive display for our front desk.

For 25 years Vision Aid Overseas has been helping some of the poorest people in the world to gain better sight, and we’re pleased to be supporting them in their quest.
At the practice we collect donated pairs of spectacles to send to the cause, and this month we’re donating cash to a team of optometrists who will fly to Ethiopia for two weeks in September to set up a new optical clinic.
The project includes training local Ethiopian optical mechanics on how to carry out eye examinations, to screen for disease, to refer for eye surgery and to issue a prescription for glasses. Then, poorer people with eye problems can for the first time undertake paid work and be able to support their extended family.
You’re entitled to a free NHS eye examination at the practice if you are:
- Under 16, or under 19 and in full time education
