Spectacle repairs, replacement lenses and recycling old glasses

As an independent optician we can repair, re-glaze and recycle your glasses wherever they have come from. So even if you’re not currently a customer, please don’t worry when your glasses need to be repaired or updated, since J Oliver Radley Opticians are on hand to help.

Glasses repairs near me

It doesn’t matter whether you originally bought your spectacles from us or from other local opticians like Specsavers Royston, Scrivens Opticians and Howes Opticians. Our friendly team are happy to repair glasses whenever necessary for customers and non-customers. This includes adjusting the temple tips on arms for a more comfortable fit, soldering metal parts or replacing nose pads, hinges and arms.

Spectacle repairs in Specsavers Royston, Scrivens Opticians or Howes Opticians

If you sat on your Specsavers glasses and snapped the arms or dropped your Scrivens Opticians specs or broke the hinges on your Howes Opticians frames, we can help you. You can expect professional customer care wherever you got your glasses from, and regardless of whether you usually shop in Buntingford, Royston or elsewhere. We’ll simply help to make sure that your glasses work for you right now.

New lenses for your spectacle frames

Accidents happen, but broken lenses can be replaced. At J Oliver Radley Opticians we can replace the lenses in your current glasses, regardless of whether we supplied them originally or you bought them from other local practices such as Scrivens Opticians, Howes Opticians or Specsavers Royston. Likewise, when it’s time to update your spectacles we can re-glaze your frames with new lenses made to your latest prescription.

Recycling unwanted glasses

J Oliver Radley Opticians is a Recycling Drop Off Point. We can accept your prescription glasses or sunglasses whether metal or plastic and whatever their condition. We provide this service to customers and non-customers as a recycling point for Vision Aid Overseas. We also collect any brand of soft contact lenses together with blister packs and foil as a drop off point for Terracycle. So, whether you get your glasses and lenses from us or from Howes, Specsavers, Scrivens or any other optician, we can help you to recycle them.
