Accessibilty and inclusion

We have tried to ensure that wheelchair users can easily access the practice, on arrival there is short-term on-street parking directly in front of the practice for drop off and collection. There is blue badge parking on street. All doors are purposefully wider to enable wide pushchairs and wheelchairs ease of access. There are no steps within the practice, however there are ramps which are suitable for most wheelchair types.  Unfortunately, members of staff are not permitted under the insurance policy to assist patients using the ramp.

Partially sighted, low vision, deaf, hard of hearing, non-English speaking clients are made welcome at our independent practice. If you wish, please bring your own translator or a family member to your appointment. If you would like us to try to source a translator for you then please let us know in advance.

36 High Street

T: 01763 273300

Anxious and nervous clients can be allocated quieter times in the day and you are welcome to be accompanied with a friend, family member or carer in the eye examination room.  Please advise us in advance then we can ensure the room door is left open and lights not too bright or too dim, we can use the air conditioning to cool or warm the room to make you as comfortable as possible.

Due to the modern equipment used at the practice to provide a full eye examination, we cannot offer home visits. However, we can dispense, deliver and fit spectacles at the patient’s home on request.

The above services may be chargeable to the patient.

It is a very good idea to familiarise yourself with the practice before you attend.  Please use the virtual tour link so that you can see where to park in front of the premises and the lay out for yourself or the client you are bringing or booking in.

After the eye examination the Optometrist and Dispensing Optician will try and advise the most appropriate advice with regards to services available, societies, help groups as appropriate, spectacle products, specific tinted spectacles, low vision appliances, and magnifiers.

Please note that we do not have public toilets on site. However we do have a RADAR key which can be loaned to you if required. This will give you access to the locked public toilets which are located opposite.
